With the announced retirement of the current Pope, Benedict, we are once again thinking of Archbishop (now Saint) Malachy O’Morgair, right? I mean, after all how could we not? As I’m certain you already know, the Archbishop was alleged to have penned a list of the 112 remaining popes starting at Celestine II in 1143 and going to Pope number 112, the last Pope, as it were. Not remarkable really, except for the fact that the Archbishop was born in 1094, made his “list” in 1139, and he accurately predicted the day and year of his own death on All Souls Day, November 2, of 1148...

real gun control


Guns are used all too often to kill people. To murder men, women, and children often completely unknown to the assailant and for reasons that are not reasons at all. How do we stop these senseless murders? Depending on who you talk to, the percentages may vary a bit, but the grim reality is about 90% of all gun murders (some say up to 95%) happen as a result of drug or gang shootings or the sort of mass murder we saw at Sandy Hook, Columbine, Virginia Tech, Aurora theater, Ft. Hood, Gabby Gifford’s. All unexplainable tragedies and senseless acts of violence, but they all have something in common...
