Guns are used all too often to kill people. To murder men, women, and children often completely unknown to the assailant and for reasons that are not reasons at all. How do we stop these senseless murders? Depending on who you talk to, the percentages may vary a bit, but the grim reality is about 90% of all gun murders (some say up to 95%) happen as a result of drug or gang shootings or the sort of mass murder we saw at Sandy Hook, Columbine, Virginia Tech, Aurora theater, Ft. Hood, Gabby Gifford’s. All unexplainable tragedies and senseless acts of violence, but they all have something in common.

Stay with me here, the facts are all true and verifiable, so perhaps we can all learn something that will actually make a difference. I will not honor the names of the shooters by mentioning them here, but those responsible for the well known acts of violence listed above were all registered Democrats. Of course, the Columbine killers were not registered as they were too young, but both parents of both killers were Democrats. In fact the Sandy Hook murderer actually worked in some capacity on the 2012 Obama campaign. However, all of these heinous acts of mass murder combined do not add up to the number of murders experienced in a large city, say Chicago, in just a few months. Add the murders from Detroit, Oakland, Washington DC, Chicago, St Louis, Philadelphia and other large cities together and all these highly publicized and horrible acts of violence, barely equal a week’s worth of murders for these large cities. A common thread? Each of these cities voted heavily Democratic and, in the areas where virtually all of the gun deaths occur, they vote lockstep for the Democratic candidate. Some districts are reported to have voted 100% for Obama.

I think we can all agree that trying to ban weapons based on what they look like is both stupid and illegal, or at least unconstitutional. The media and deceptive politicians use the term “assault weapon” to try and conjure up images of automatic weapons, the kind you see in the movies where the trigger is pulled and it fires bullets seemingly forever from some unseen, inexhaustible supply, and mostly on target. Automatic weapons are already virtually illegal due to the onerous paperwork, taxes and other requirement imposed by the government, both on the manufacturer of such weapons and the end user. For those reasons and, due to the fact automatic weapons are extremely impractical, inaccurate and expensive to shoot and own, I don’t think one has been used in a crime since the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre which, if memory serves, was also in Chicago.

Automatic weapons are of very limited usefulness and are only used, even in combat, for suppression. That is, to cause the enemy to duck and cover while your team is maneuvering or repositioning. The days of sending waves of human targets swarming towards the enemy line is long past. Battles are no longer fought that way and the automatic weapon is among the least effective per round weapon still used in combat. The reality is most automatic rifles have a magazine that will allow for prolonged fire of around 4 seconds before the ammunition is exhausted, unlike the movies or the impression the politicians try to convey. Oddly, the politicians and media outlets trying to convince you that assault weapons are automatic weapons, are also Democrats, but I digress.

Here is my plan. Remove all guns of any sort from the hand and home of anyone registered as a Democrat. To be fair, most Democrats are law abiding citizens and deserve the same Constitutional protections we all should have, and I personally know of several Democrats who responsibly own and enjoy guns. So any Democrat that can provide proof that they have held a job for at least 8 of the last ten years and are not receiving some sort of Government assistance like welfare, food stamps, housing subsidies, Medicaid, or other “entitlements” can have their guns back. If there are still some Democrats that believe they should have their guns back I propose a simple test. Pass it and have your guns returned. A few, general questions, a few simple math questions, maybe a word question or two, some basic history questions. Perhaps like these:

If your government takes in 2.9 trillion dollars per year and spends 4.1 trillion dollars per year, do they have a spending problem? Yes or No (circle the correct answer)

If this same government could take 100% of all the money made by anyone making more than 1 million dollars per year, and 80% of all the money made by anyone making more than $250,000 per year, and 60% of all the money made by anyone making more than $100,000 per year would this be enough to pay the 4.1 trillion? Yes or No (circle the correct answer)

If a child lies to his or her parents and is put in a time out, and an adolescent lies to his or her parent and is grounded, and an adult lies to his boss and is fired, and a person who lies to the court goes to jail, and a military serviceman lies to his or her commander and is put in the brig, is it OK for a politician or the media to lie to the people? Yes or No (circle the correct answer)

If the congress has a 10% approval rating and 95% of the congressmen are re-elected the people are:

If this plan is implemented and completely carried out, I can guarantee gun murders will drop by 90% immediately, allowing the government to focus on other matters of importance in this country, like hammers. Yes hammers, did you know that more school aged children are killed every year by hammers than by guns? We clearly need to remove these menaces from the garages and pickup truck across the country. In fact, any implement used to assault someone is an assault weapon, right? How about kitchen knives, are they next? Window shade cords, baseball bats? Certainly beer bottles, umbrellas, monkey bars, or rolling pins?

Anything can be used as a weapon to assault someone. Perhaps there is something wrong with the person that commits the assault rather than the inanimate object selected for use in the assault. Another thread that binds all these mass murders together is that fact they are all having mental health problems and were all known to be taking some sort of prescription drug for depression, anxiety or other mental health problems. Perhaps we should look at why the assailant felt they had to, or were free to, assault another person. Perhaps we should look at why these people all seemed to have mental health issues. Is there a commonality with Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gayce, Jeffery Dahlmer, and most people convicted of random assaults on unknown people? Yes there is. Several, actually. Yep, they are Democrats for sure, but that is not where I’m going here. They have another commonality that perhaps more accurately explains their actions far better than their political persuasion. The real reason why these people do the things they do. They do not have a personal saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

Jesus has been systemically removed from all areas of American life. He is no longer allowed in schools when our children are learning and maturing. He has been pushed out of corporate life by boycotts and threats. He has been excluded from our courtroom and by our political leaders. With no moral compass, our country has given free rein to the very small percentage of the population that would benefit immediately and, perhaps most in need of a relationship with their Creator. The rest of us can choose to look into Christ, or not. We can choose to live by His code, or ours. We believe we can get by in this world just fine either way (the next world is the real question though, eh?). But for the few like these recent killers, and past famous and infamous ones, Christ might have provided an anchor to reality, a source of love and caring, the difference between an awkward kid and a mass murderer.

Why are all these murderers Democrats? I doubt if they killed because of their party affiliation, but clearly their party affiliation gives a clue as to why they murdered. They killed because they are adrift in a world they can’t understand, living by a code that makes no sense, and trapped in a mind unable to process things the way you and I might. They are overwhelmed and angry. The anchor that could have saved them, and by association so many of their victims, is Christ. Christ was taken before they ever had a chance to find Him. Eliminated by a group of people who found no use for Him in their lives, and who believed He should not, or could not, have an impact on anyone else’s lives; never introduced by parents or care givers, or neighbors or friends.

The people who blocked access to Christ for these murderers were not all necessarily evil, and probably did not anticipate the murderous consequences to their actions. They simply did not believe that Christ was really who He said he was, nor did they believe He would do what He claimed He would. They never spent the time to look seriously into His claims and probably spent far more time deciding what their next automobile would be, than to consider if Christ was really who He claimed to be. As such, these people saw no reason for a relationship with Him. He was never introduced to their own children. They did not see any reason for Christ’s name to be known among the children, known among the business, or political groups, or known among the nation as He once had been, and in many cases these people could be found actually arguing against Christ in any form. Talk about kicking against the goads.

That this nation no longer has a moral compass is clear. Nor is it any longer being lead by people who do. The new compass is man’s wisdom. Many now believe we as people can figure things out on our own and this mindset is what attracts Democrats. They need to believe they are smarter than God. This is not really a new compass. It has been around in one form or another from the dawn of man. Cain did not believe God, Able did, so Cain murdered Able. This trust in man’s wisdom has produced the advertised results, and yet the message remains attractive to some. Individuals who are naturally drawn to this message are also drawn to the Democratic party, and by and large, are more comfortable trusting in man’s wisdom and abilities than trusting the One who created them and who offers real hope and change. We are now, like at so many other times in the past, reaping what we have sown.

Some democrats even claim to be Christians, for reasons that are unclear to me. The word Christian means “little Christ” or “Follower of Christ”. To be a Christian means you need to believe Christ, to follow His directions, just as being a “HOG” (Harley Owners Group) member means you, by definition, must enjoy motorcycles and tattoos. Some might claim to be HOG members, but unless they actually own, ride, and enjoy a Harley, and other Harley owners, it is an empty claim. Those who both claim to be Christians and are pro-abortion, believe homosexuality is not a sin, or think a heterosexual relationship outside of marriage is fine, should take a close look at what Jesus tells us about people like that. Those who both claim to be Democrats and are pro-life, believe homosexuality is a sin, and believe marriage is a God ordained establishment between a man and a women, should take a close look at the Democratic platform. Those that believe Christ and His Word is “religion” and useful on Sunday at church, but has no place in business, politics, or in any public arena, are like HOG members who have never ridden or owned a Harley. A rather empty and pointless claim, indeed. They may be fooling their friends, but God is probably not amused.

Does being a Democrat mean you are a killer? Of course not, but the plain fact is, if you are a killer there is a 95% chance you are a Democrat. Does being a Democrat mean you are not a Christian? Only God knows your heart, but I might suggest that at the very least it means you are confused or dishonest about one or the other. You cannot simultaneously believe abortion is fine and murder is a sin. You can’t simply dismiss what Jesus said about homosexuality and claim the Bible is true. You cannot want to drop God from the Democratic platform and think you are following Jesus. I might suggest the Democrat who believes themselves to be a Christian might want to further investigate which they really are, and commit to one or the other. Were your life to tragically end at the hands of a deranged rolling pin wielding murderer, your political persuasion is unimportant, but your relationship to Christ will have every effect on your final destination.

The best and brightest of this country now believe that because a rifle has a light weight, inexpensive, water proof stock, people are killing each other. Apparently if the rifle had the traditional wood furniture no one would think to use it to commit murder. Really? That is the best our elected leaders can come up with? Are you certain you want to put your faith and trust, your earthly life, in the hands of these people? Remember, we have to pass the bill before we can see what’s in it. Awesome.

Jesus had a better idea, He called sin, sin and provided the path to forgiveness and restoration. As for me and my house, we will follow Jesus.
